Glen Echo Drive/Lunch
We’ll start the adventure at Gina and Brad's home in rural Boulder at 8:30 AM. Coffee, tea and light breakfast items will fuel us up at the driver’s meeting, then it’s on to the main event. The drive to lunch in Glen Echo is 2 hr. 15 minutes, but we are allotting an extra 45 minutes so we’ll have plenty of time to stop at scenic overlooks for pictures and socializing.
The route will take us through Berthoud, around Carter Lake, and on to Masonville on some amazing curvy roads our cars were made for. After Masonville we enjoy some great twists and turns on Stove Prairie / Buckhorn Road, then a short 15 mile stint down Poudre County Highway 14 to our lunch stop at Glen Echo Resort. https://www.glenechoresort.com/
After a delicious and well deserved lunch, we will split into two groups. Some will return home, while the rest will continue on this adventure to beautiful Elk Mountain Wyoming where we will overnight at a wonderful small hotel tucked into the wilderness.
Elk Mountain Raid
Leaving Glen Echo, our hunger now satisfied, we head west on Highway 14. Great scenery awaits us as we travel to Wyoming, passing through Encampment, Riverside, and Saratoga, Wyoming on our way to the Elk Mountain Hotel. There will be a few spontaneous stops along the way, of course.
You will need to make your own room reservations for August 19th. Call the Elk Mountain Hotel at 307-348-7774 and mention the Maserati Club. We have 8 rooms reserved that they will hold until Aug 5th. Rates range from $155 to $215/night. There is a 10% discount on rooms. They will apply that when you check in.
Dinner that night will be at Elk Mountain Hotel, and they are working on a signature cocktail for our event.

When we depart the Elk Mountain Hotel on Sunday morning we will back track a bit to take advantage of driving on the Wyoming 130 from Saratoga to Laramie. This takes our merry band of wanderers through the Medicine Bow National Forest and over the Snowy Range road. Here's a photo that shows what the view will be outside our window. It has earned its place on the list of one of America's most scenic drives.
Then a group lunch in Laramie before we turn south and return home.
The scenery for this whole drive is magnificent. And those in our pack with race car ambitions will love this event, with lots of sharp turns, and of course, those wide-open Wyoming spaces.
